Registration of Trade Marks Containing Emoji

My paper on 'Registration of Marks Containing Emoji' was published in this month's issue of European Intellectual Property Review.  My central point was that emoji should be treated like words rather than images, and that marks containing emoji should be evaluated as word marks not figurative one.  Unfortunately technological constraints means it wasn't possible to include in the actual emoji referred to in the paper.  Just for the fun I have included them below in order to appearance.

I'd be delighted to hear from anyone who has any comments on the paper. Please feel free to leave a comment here or e-mail me.

Bonus Question: If "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" was registered as a trade mark, would it be infringed by the use for the same goods of πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ”« πŸ”«?
